Did you know that the key to Your Best Living and  Amped Competitiveness is your ability to understand and utilize Key Secrets of your Mind?    

During my work as a psychotherapist and separately, in my dissertation research discussions, I consistently, found that people – myself included – were “Empowered for Change” once they learned how their brain mechanics work and the easy tools that “Make Change Easy & Fun”!

Once we Know our Minds,
A New World is not only Possible — It Becomes Beyond Probable!

Once you understand the basics about how your mind works, it is so much easier to hone your focus, aptitudes, and abilities!

Another way to think about it – We inherited, from our ancient ancestors, a mind-brain system that seeks our safety and survival first and foremost.

  •  The good news is that we no-longer have to fear the threat of a saber tooth tiger, yet, “safety and security” is ultimately our baseline and primal default mode which means that until our safety and survival is assured, we respond to life in protective mode
  • AKA subconsciously our brain strives to assure our safety and security by reacting quickly – and often impulsively – and frequently with extra emotion.
  • Yet, we are so much more than our safety and survival reaction tendencies and so learning how to not only react, but also to mindfully act beyond that protective mode is key and critical.
  • During our sessions at The Mind Body Whisperer, we’ll work together to help you “Discover and Own” the Key Secrets of your Mind so that YOU CAN become your Mind-Body Best!
The following outlines key baseline understandings to develop your Mind-Body strengths.
Your brain and body’s 1st job is your survival. Each life situation builds our model of what it takes to survive. Left alone, the filter can mis-interpret things. Best practices – work your model. Eval & re-work your model and build new circumstances to better write your model.

To assure survival, your brain begins to catalog your experiences – i.e. good vs. bad – ranked by the valence of the attendant emotions.  Your brain’s catalog becomes your filter & in turn, your view of reality. Without review, your filter colors your reality – & may be only the filter, not reality.  With processing, reality can be the possibility beyond our filters.

Overload vs. Options refers to if your brain is functioning in fight or flight OR in calm. In fight or flight, your brain is operating in hypervigiliance & is highly reactionary – It’s in survival mode and there are no options, only survival. In calm you can start to see and choose options and in turn, new possibilities.
As you progress, the principles of perspective, orienting vs. executive attention, and how short, shallow breaths primes your body for fight or flight – NOT Creation and Flow can facilitate your progresses.

Can’t see – With these, your brain forms reaction equations i.e. “if this happens, then this happens – all based on experiences to date. level of emotion 

Alerting, Orienting, Executive

Additional progressions are facilitated as you’re able to use time in stillness.  AKA Despite our fast paced, sound-filled world, there is still creative benefit gained by taking time and giving oneself space for  contemplation and thought.  Curiously, it is often in these moments in stillness that we better hear our inner thoughts and wisdoms and in turn use these to build new opportunities and even advantages.

Further, a better understanding of the principles of shifting and building bridges to new thoughts and/ or relationships optimizes our mind power.  As, of course, the power of contentment and appreciation and gratitude.
We so live in a whirlwind of info & activity. Yet, giving ourselves a few minutes of time and the space to hear our own inner thoughts and to think things through w/o the constancy of activity is a key to success.

A great brain to change game – assess where you are & where you’d like to be. Imagine a bridge with each “slat” equal to a step to bring you closer to your goal-include why it’d be valuable to you. Shift to that slat, check the 360 view – and if it still looks good, move onto that step. Another 360 view, Confirm & Celebrate. Repeat all steps.

Being content and in appreciation maintains the potential for new progressions. If you’re frustrated, etc. your brain & body go into stuck mode vs. you move forward when you have hope. So the steps = 1)content for where you are & what you’re learning, 2)appreciating where you are and where you can go – and then you get HOPE which powers your potentials & ultimately, achievements.

The key to success is to embed them with Celebration! Odd, yet the brain & dopamine/ serotonin circuits don’t always appreciate how big our success is until we celebrate with mind, body & emotion.
